Ashland Foundry & Machine Works grew up as a pump OEM and is staffed and equipped to produce castings from a 10 to 10,000 lbs in steel. We melt in 7 coreless induction furnaces ranging in size from 500 lbs. to 7,500 lbs. As a major supplier of corrosion resistant and heat resistant components, we utilize an 8,000 lb. AOD for refining steels. Doing so positions this large stainless foundry to produce cleaner alloys like low carbon stainless steel, Inconel and cast Hastelloy steel with superior mechanical properties. AFMW produces a full range of Carbon, Low Alloy, Nickel based, Duplex, Austenitic and Super Austenitic, and Martensitic alloys.
Our team runs five no-bake molding lines to produce both flasked and flaskless molds. For medium volume demands we have a semi-automated carousel line and an indexable line for molds up to 54 x 54 inches. Our floor molding area offers flexibility to accommodate molds for large stainless steel castings.
Our metallurgical lab techs inspect each heat for chemistry, tensile, yield, and elongation properties. Here they monitor and record all tapping and pouring temperatures for complete traceablity. Our pouring team utilizes Kal-tec lined ladles with teapot spouts to draw the metal from the bottom of the ladle to reduce defects. We offer complete in-house heat treatment capability to ensure all our products meet your mechanical requirements.
Looking for a heat resistant stainless foundry or Inconel foundry to produce your cast valve body or cast pump component and deliver a machined casting? Here we are, Ashland Foundry & Machine Works.
