At Ashland Foundry & Machine Works, LLC we operate a large well-equipped machining department. Most of our customers prefer the product quality and added-value service of our machined castings.
- No need to manage issues that may arise between the casting and machining processes.
- No worries about subsurface porosity that was exposed during machining.
- No worries about your machining vendor’s backlogged schedule, we manage the entire process for you.
Issue one order and you get fully machined castings ready for your assembly line. Its that simple.
With our arsenal of horizontal and vertical machining centers, we are capable of multi-axis milling, drilling, and tapping as well as 3-axis and 4-axis turning. Our lean production model is optimized for a balanced, single piece flow for defect-free manufacturing at the lowest possible cost.
More than just a stainless foundry in Pennsylvania, with our lineup of equipment, we can mill and turn both small and large parts. We turn parts with diameters as small as 0.06″ or as large as 120″. Our milling work envelope accommodates parts measuring from 0.06″ long x 0.06″ wide x 0.06″ high all the way up to those as large as 120″ long x 64″ wide x 60″ high and weighing up to 10,000 lbs. We can uphold tolerances as close as ±0.0005″ on ID, straightness, and concentricity as well as ±0.0025″ on length for parts that are longer than 60.0″.
In addition to CNC machined castings, we use raw materials such as bar stock and plate to CNC machine OEM parts that require close manufacturing tolerances. We machine an extensive selection of material with an emphasis on stainless steels, and exotic metals such as Inconel®, Monel® and other superalloys. Whether we are machining a large stainless steel casting or small piece of bar stock, our technical staff works directly from customer-supplied engineered 3D models, or we can use our Creo (pka Pro-Engineer) CAD software to build perfect 3D models to the exact geometry of part drawings. Using ICAM post processors, we generate reliable “G” code programming to ensure the highest degree of machining accuracy and repeatability.
As an ISO certified company, we perform comprehensive quality management in every aspect of production. We accept prototype and small volume orders and accommodate blanket order release for larger production volumes. Our experience crosses many industries, and we supply parts that meet Mil-spec,TS, FDA, and other industry standards.
